Carly Rae Jepsen Releases New Album Day and Night

Multi-platinum, GRAMMY® Award-nominated pop singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen released her ninth album, Day and Night, September 18 via Interscope Records.
The album’s “day” side includes “Versailles,” a frenzied pop track inspired by Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette and its lavish portrait of pleasure-seeking. Jepsen co-wrote the song with Elias Kapari, Noonie Bao, and Markus Krunegård, with production by Kapari. The accompanying video, directed by Kanya Iwana, was filmed in Los Angeles.
Day and Night moves between symphonic pop, dreamy psychedelia and high-octane disco. Earlier singles “On Wires” and “After All” introduced the album’s sun-soaked “day” side, while “Motivation” and “Don’t Leave Me on the Dance Floor” showcase the more maximalist dance-oriented “night” side.
Jepsen first rose to international prominence with the 2012 global hit “Call Me Maybe,” which topped charts in more than 47 countries and earned two GRAMMY® nominations. Her 2015 album E•MO•TION has since surpassed one billion streams worldwide and has been recognized by publications including Pitchfork and Billboard as one of the defining albums of the 2010s.
With Day and Night, Jepsen continues the evolution of a catalog that includes Dedicated (2019), The Loneliest Time (2022), and several companion B-sides projects.
