The Charlatans UK Bring We Are Love Tour to Chicago’s Park West

British alternative rock veterans The Charlatans UK will bring their We Are Love tour to Chicago’s Park West on Thursday, September 17, as part of the band’s current North American headline run.
The tour follows the release of We Are Love (Deluxe), an expanded edition of the band’s 14th studio album. The deluxe release includes “Deeper and Deeper – Faders Down ‘Depth Charge’ Remix,” a reworking of the track by Faders Down, the remix project featuring Ride drummer Loz Colbert and James Hockley of Chicaine.
Colbert, who previously joined The Charlatans UK on percussion during two tours, re-recorded a full drum kit for the remix, while Hockley contributed additional keyboards.
“Loz Colbert (from Ride) joined us on percussion for our last two tours,” frontman Tim Burgess said. “In between times, we’d talk about music we loved and what we were up to. From that came the idea for a remix, and we knew he loved ‘Deeper and Deeper.’ What he’s done with it is amazing.”
We Are Love (Deluxe) also features a remix of the album’s title track by Ride guitarist and vocalist Mark Gardener.
We Are Love is The Charlatans UK’s 14th studio album and the latest release in a career that includes three No. 1 UK albums and songs including “The Only One I Know,” “North Country Boy” and “One to Another.”
The Charlatans UK’s North American tour continues through September 26, concluding at Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, New York.
