Lady Wray Celebrates New Album Cover Girl with Chicago Concert October 14

Lady Wray returns with her third album on Big Crown Records, Cover Girl, a bold and soulful collection created entirely on her own terms. Blending the timeless influences of ’60s and ’70s soul and disco with ’90s hip-hop and gospel, the record was crafted in collaboration with Grammy Award–winning producer Leon Michels (Clairo, Freddie Gibbs, Norah Jones). Following 2016’s Queen Alone and 2022’s Piece of Me, Cover Girl finds Nicole Wray reclaiming her artistry with confidence and joy, centering her powerhouse voice and renewed sense of self.
“I’ve gravitated more towards love and self-care with this album,” says Lady Wray. “Piece of Me was realizing that I was going to be a mother and all those feelings were on my heart. Now I’m able to sit back and be a real boss. I got my career, my motherhood, and my marriage by the horns. I’ve grown into this more self-aware and beautiful flower for Cover Girl.”
Alongside the album, Lady Wray has begun her North American tour. The run includes stops in New York City, Toronto, Chicago, and Los Angeles, before concluding in Vancouver, BC on November 12th. Tickets are available now at ladynicolewray.com.

With Queen Alone and Piece of Me, she reclaimed her voice and vision, leading to standout performances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. Now, with Cover Girl, she continues her partnership with Michels, delivering a radiant mix of soul, gospel, funk, and contemporary R&B that reflects her joy, growth, and artistic freedom.
