Celebrating over a decade of music, Derek Woods Band is an International Award-Winning Americana/Rock n’ Roll group known for their genre-blending sound, dynamic live performances, and infectious energy that transcends musical boundaries.
Formed in 2012 in Los Angeles, California, following Derek Woods’ solo debut in 2011, the band has grown into a powerful, road-tested ensemble now based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In 2025, the band marks its 13th year together with their aptly named “Lucky 13” Summer Tour — a victory lap following extensive U.S. tours in both 2024 and 2025. With no signs of slowing down, DWB continues to expand their touring reach across new markets, bringing their spirited performances to audiences nationwide and beyond.
Over the years, Derek Woods Band has shared stages with music legends such as Jefferson Starship, Leon Russell, Allman Betts Band, Lisa Marie Presley, Cheech & Chong, Rusted Root, Jimmy Herring, and Tim Reynolds. They’ve performed at iconic venues and festivals, from the Woodstock 50th Anniversary at Yasgur’s Farm in Bethel, NY, to the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA.
Derek Woods hosts JamBrewzle Music Festival, a one-day annual event that Derek Woods Band has headlined for over a decade. Held in celebration of music and community, JamBrewzle has featured special appearances from artists like Scott Page (Pink Floyd) and Jason Hann (The String Cheese Incident) joining Derek Woods Band live on stage.
Renowned for their heartfelt songwriting and genre-hopping musicianship, Derek Woods Band has been multi-nominated and internationally awarded, taking home accolades for “Americana Song of the Year,” “Best Music Video,” and “Best Art Music Video.” In 2025, they’re nominated for “Americana Band of the Year” at the prestigious Josie Awards held at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN.
With a core lineup featuring vocals, guitar, saxophone, bass, and drums, their live shows are a high energy ride across musical landscapes, often augmented with unique instrumentation and unexpected musical twists. Their dynamic performances resonate with fans of all ages and tastes.
Derek Woods Band’s most recent full-length album, “The Light” (2024), features standout singles including the title track “The Light”—with co-vocals by Fred Mascherino of Taking Back Sunday— and “Thank You For Being Here”. The album also includes a guest performance by Jackson Stokes (Devon Allman) on lead guitar and an audio of Chevy Chase saying “I want some more” Derek Woods Band at the end of the album.
Their 2021 album release, “Picture Yourself,” mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Gavin Lurssen (Robert Plant/Alison Krauss, O Brother Where Art Thou), broke creative ground with each track released as a single accompanied by a music video; fanfavorite “Don’t Look Away” featured a custom-made muppet version of Derek and earned two international awards. The 2019 EP, “The Question,” marks a turning point in the band’s musical journey, capturing their sonic evolution as they moved toward their now-signature sound.
