New York, NY (September 11, 2025) – Weakened Friends have announced their highly anticipated new album Feels Like Hell, out October 10 on Don Giovanni Records, and today share a new single, “Nosebleed.” The track captures that difficult in-between space of a breakup—when you’re no longer together, but far from free of its weight.
“The song came out of a conversation with a friend who was talking about their breakup,” says the band. “On the surface, they sounded like they were over it, but underneath it all, you could feel the weight of what they weren’t saying. It’s a feeling most of us know too well: pretending we’ve moved on while still being haunted by the past.”
The single arrives with a Tadin Brego–directed video inspired by the Kristen Stewart film Love Lies Bleeding. In the clip, bassist Annie Hoffman plays a gym manager while guitarist/vocalist Sonia Sturino embodies a smitten, shattered bodybuilder. “Nosebleed” follows the simulation-theory-inspired “NPC (feat. Buckethead),” the fiery album opener “Tough Luck (Bleed Me Out),” and the trio’s recent cover of “Torn.”
Weakened Friends’ story reads like a modern twist on Fleetwood Mac—minus the cocaine, plus a healthy dose of multivitamins. More than a decade ago, Sturino asked Annie to form a band. At the time, Annie was dating drummer Adam Hand, but after Annie and Sonia fell in love and married, Adam eventually rejoined as drummer—not out of jealousy, but in support of their relationship. That rare gesture of solidarity transformed potential tension into deep mutual care, fueling music that continues to resonate with audiences.
For Sturino, Feels Like Hell also marks a personal turning point as their first record since embracing their identity as a gender-nonconforming person. “It was really important to me, and it makes me feel so much better about this record because I feel like I hear me. I’m not scared to hear myself; I’m not judging myself anymore.”
Fans can catch Weakened Friends live at Riot Fest on Sunday, September 21 at 12pm, with a special Riot Fest Aftershow on Friday, September 19 supporting Shudder To Think at Cobra Lounge. A full headlining tour runs October 16 – November 20, with Weakened Friends partnering with The Ally Coalition (TAC), a non-profit that uplifts LGBTQ+ youth, who will be on-site for most dates. Tickets are on sale now.
