Oxis Unleashes 2 Stunning New Singles “Grey Mullet” and “Scup”

Marine electronica’s pioneering siren Oxis returns with two new singles, “Grey Mullet” and “Scup.” The former unfolds as a rising, astral ballad, carried by her hushed, echoing vocals, while the latter embodies her signature dynamic composition—opening with tender guitar before slowly submerging beneath layers of yearning vocals, drums, and bass, then resurfacing with striking clarity. Together, the tracks dive deeper into the sonic waters of a new Oxis project on the horizon, with more details to be revealed soon.
“Grey Mullet” and “Scup” build on the momentum of the latest installment in the prolific Oxis universe, Oxis 8, released in January via Boom Records. The project featured standout tracks including “Fingerling,” “Guili,” “Piranha,” and “Fry,” earning praise from outlets such as Stereogum, FLOOD, and Pigeons & Planes, the latter of which named her to its Artists to Watch in 2026 list.
Continuing with Oxis 8, this ongoing series of eponymous releases represents a bold effort to capture the heightened intensity of coming-of-age emotions—lightning in a bottle. That duality of feeling—like a surge of adrenaline or salt in a wound—courses through her music with fearless immediacy. The prolific pace of the Oxis project also documents her artistic evolution in real time, reinforcing her stature as a producer, songwriter, and vocalist while charting new sonic territory with each release. Late last year, she offered a rare look into her production process through a stripped-down reimagining of her live set, performing “Piranha” and “Fry” during an intimate session with The FADER in New York City.
Oxis is currently on tour supporting Bob Moses and Cannons across North America, with upcoming performances scheduled at iconic venues including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Greek Theatre, and The Hollywood Bowl. Tickets are available now.
