Ella Boh Unleashes Stunning Dream-Pop Take on “Careless Whisper” Ahead of Chicago Show September 30th

Rising dark-pop artist Ella Boh has put her own spin on a pop classic with the release of a dream-pop rendition of “Careless Whisper.”
Originally made famous by George Michael, the song has already become a favorite among Boh’s audiences after she began performing it during her live shows. Her newly released studio version moves the familiar track into darker territory, shifting between restrained, breathy vocals and powerful moments that give the song a distinctly different atmosphere from the original.
The release also comes as Boh continues building momentum following a busy summer that included her Lollapalooza debut in Chicago and the late-July release of her BLURRY (DELUXE EP) through Bamboo Artists.
The decision to record “Careless Whisper” was also driven in part by the response the song received from fans during her tour.
“‘Careless Whisper’ is one of my favorite songs of all time so I started covering it on tour. My fans have not left me alone about it since, so I’m finally dropping the studio cover as my gift to them for selling my first headline tour so quickly,” Boh said.
That first headlining run has already produced sold-out dates in New York City and Washington, D.C., with shows in Los Angeles, Denver and Dallas also approaching sellouts. Psylosia will provide support along the way.
Following the headline tour, Boh will head overseas to join Artemas for an extensive UK and European tour to close out the year.
Chicago audiences will have another opportunity to catch Boh live when she returns to the city on September 30th at Evanston SPACE, following her Lollapalooza debut earlier this summer.
