Fresh out of their breakout Coachella debut performance, Jane Remover has announced their third headlining tour, Live Exhibit, with support from rising electronic musician dazegxd. Set to kick off in June, the 18-date tour will start with a performance in New York City’s Governor Ball, and bring Jane Remover across major cities including Toronto, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Denver, Seattle, Atlanta, and of course, Chicago.
The announcement arrives amid what has already been a massive year for the genre-defying artist. In December, Jane surprise-released the ♡ EP, earning widespread praise from fans for standout tracks including “So What?,” “Music Baby,” “Dream Sequence,” “Flash in the Pan,” and “How To Teleport.” A new remix of “Music Baby” by Jane’s alter ego, leroy, also hit streaming platforms shortly after the EP’s release.
The momentum follows the success of Jane Remover’s acclaimed album Revengeseekerz, which featured tracks like “JRJRJR,” “Dancing with your eyes closed,” and “Psychoboost” featuring Detroit rapper Danny Brown. The project also spawned several b-sides, including “Dreamflasher,” “Audiostalker” featuring New York artist Lucy Bedroque, and “Supernova” featuring emerging artist funeral.
For Chicago fans, Jane Remover’s return is significant. Last year, Jane Remover performed an energetic sold-out show at Lincoln Hall. This tour’s original one-date performance at Metro on June 12 has now become a two-date performance, with the addition of June 13 due to high demand, which is also sold out now.
The City has long embraced artists operating outside traditional genre lines, and Jane Remover’s chaotic blend of glitchy electronics, blown-out guitars, hardcore energy, and emotionally raw songwriting fits within Chicago’s thriving experimental and DIY music culture. Metro itself has served as a fundamental space for boundary-pushing acts for decades, making it a fitting venue for an artist whose career has been built on musical reinvention.
Jane Remover has rapidly evolved from underground cult favorite to one of alternative music’s most exciting live acts. The artist joined Turnstile on the NEVER ENOUGH tour and made festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Primavera Sound, and Outbreak Fest, and has performed some of their first European headline shows.
Jane first emerged as a defining voice of the digicore and hyperpop scene with the groundbreaking 2021 debut album Frailty. Their 2023 follow-up album, Census Designated, pivoted toward a more guitar-driven sound and earned widespread critical acclaim, including a rare five-star review from The Guardian.
Whilst releasing music under Jane Remover, they have created a variety of side-projects such as the aforementioned leroy, through which Jane formed the micro-genre dariacore; and Venturing, under which they just released the single “In the Dark”.
Critical praise for Revengeseekerz has continued to pour in from major outlets. Billboard described Jane Remover as “shape-shifting,” while Pitchfork called the record “simultaneously their most maximalist yet most direct music yet.” Additional acclaim came from Stereogum, The FADER, NPR, Paste, and Vogue.
As the Live Exhibit tour begins, Jane Remover stands at a pivotal moment in their career: a leading voice in the future of experimental and alternative music. For Chicago audiences this summer, the expanded Metro shows will likely witness an artist entering a new level of cultural and creative influence.
