Indie Rock Breakout Wes Parker Unleashes Mesmerizing New Track “Neck”

Indie rock’s rising voice Wes Parker continues his ascent with “Neck,” his hypnotic new single recently released via Big Machine Rock. Equal parts raw and atmospheric, the track channels Parker’s signature blend of moody melodies and unflinching emotion, cementing his place as one of the genre’s most intriguing new storytellers.

Fresh off a spotlight feature on Spotify’s Ones To Watch, Parker’s momentum shows no signs of slowing. Personally invited by Stone Temple Pilots’ Dean DeLeo to join his new supergroup One More Satellite on tour this November, Parker will also headline a run of East Coast shows, closing out with a hometown performance in Richmond on November 14 to celebrate the release of his Fantom EP.

Parker shares about the track:

“I am a really bad sleeper. I think about death a lot in these wee hours. The fact that I’m gonna have to die. ‘Neck’ is a song that encapsulates some of my racing, middle-of-the-night, insomniac thoughts. And hopefully the feeling that even when you’re lying awake in the dark at 4AM you know a bunch of other people doing the exact same thing.”

ABOUT WES PARKER:

Before his solo debut, Parker toured nationally with indie rock band Camp Howard, sharing stages with The Backseat Lovers and Stone Temple Pilots. After the band’s dissolution during the pandemic, he found unexpected viral success as crust-punk comedy alter ego Skunk, amassing over 200K TikTok followers. Still, the throughline has always been the music.

Backed by a tight-knit three-piece band and longtime collaborator John Trainum (Kanye West, Kate Bollinger, Mychelle), Parker is channeling years of road-worn experience, heartbreak, and reinvention into a catalog that feels both lived-in and timeless. His January 2025 solo debut Splinter introduced that sound; his forthcoming Fantom EP pushes it into sharper focus, tracing the fall of an angel from heaven to hell through a series of cathartic songs.
