Swank Mami Unleashes New EP Worldstar and “MC69” Video

(October 29, 2025) – Rising Oslo-born artist Swank Mami returns with her bold new EP Worldstar — a six-track collection that marks the next chapter in her evolution. Co-written with Santell and Mogilla, the project pulses with the energy of Euro dance while anchored by her signature silky R&B vocals. Blurring genre lines with confidence and freedom, Worldstar showcases Swank Mami’s fearless artistic spirit. The EP, mixed by Nathan Boddy (Mura Masa, PinkPantheress), features previously released singles “PLZ” and “Baddiez.”
Arriving alongside the release is the music video for “MC69”, directed by Claryn Chong. Swank Mami explains, “‘MC69’ is about being secure in who you are. It’s time to say ‘no’ more.”
Speaking on the project as a whole, she shares:
“‘Worldstar’ is the continuation of my first EP ‘Eurostar.’ It feels more versatile and sonically curious. Each song is different from the other, but still me. The best way for me to create is to be limitless in genres — no boxes, just pure freedom. This project sums up my life for the last 2 to 3 years. I’m learning every day and, now in my late 20s, I feel the need to be more direct in my music and I feel like the songs reflect that. I feel very lucky to share them with the world.”
Born in Oslo with Somali roots, Swank Mami made her debut in 2023 with Eurostar, earning early praise from The Fader, Dazed, and The Face. Her swift rise led to a guest appearance in Travis Scott’s film Circus Maximus, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive). Since then, she’s collaborated with Oscar Scheller (Shygirl, NewJeans) and earned co-signs from Arca, Crystallmess, Zara Larsson, and Jim Legxacy. Recently, she opened for Azealia Banks in Belgium and will make her Pitchfork Music Festival debut on November 5 in Paris, supporting AG Cook and Underscores.
