Twenty-one-year-old artist and provocateur SOFIA ISELLA has announced her new EP Something is a shell ., arriving independently on April 17. The project marks the latest chapter in her rapidly expanding catalog, following a breakthrough year that saw her transition from viral ascent to commanding sold-out venues and arena stages worldwide.

The announcement coincides with the release of new single “Numbers,” a stark and confrontational introduction to the EP. Built around a stripped, percussive backbone, the track sharpens the tension that defines ISELLA’s work — control versus autonomy, intimacy versus extraction. With unflinching vocal delivery, she interrogates the darker undercurrents of organized religion and the sycophantic culture that protects it, turning the song into something closer to a reckoning than a traditional pop hook. “Numbers” opens the EP alongside previously released tracks “Out in the Garden” and “Above The Neck.”
Since 2024, ISELLA has cultivated an uncompromising body of work through releases including I Can Be Your Mother (2024) and I’m Camera (2025), the latter featuring the haunting single “Muse.” Across her catalog, she has surpassed 150 million global streams while establishing a sonic identity rooted in bold textures, incisive lyricism, and a refusal to dilute her perspective. Breakout moments such as “Hot Gum” and the viral “Doll People” further expanded her audience, underscoring the growing global resonance of her work.
Operating within a space of hyper-realism, ISELLA challenges conventional narratives around femininity and safety, sidestepping easy resolution in favor of confrontation. Her sound — a fusion of pop sensibility and industrial abrasion — complements an aesthetic that is as haunting as it is deliberate.
Her live presence has matched that intensity. ISELLA has toured with Glass Animals, opened for Taylor Swift, and is set to join Florence + The Machine for upcoming East Coast dates, including performances at Madison Square Garden in New York. Additional appearances include the summer Her Desire, The Nemesis European tour and Hinterland Music Festival, with more announcements forthcoming.
