(September 9, 2025) – Rex Orange County makes his return with the brand-new single “Take A Drive,” produced by legendary artist, producer, and fashion innovator Pharrell Williams. Premiered on BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record, the track marks Rex’s first release since his collaborative double single “Rearrange My World / There’s a Field (That’s Only Yours)” with GRAMMY Award-winning artist Daniel Caesar. That project has already surpassed 60 million streams worldwide and set the stage for this exciting new chapter.

Blending Rex’s candid lyricism with Pharrell’s unmistakable production touch, “Take A Drive” invites listeners to slow down and savor the journey—both literally and metaphorically. Driven by slick basslines, warm keys, and Rex’s signature vocals, the song radiates feel-good energy while balancing nostalgic tones with modern pop sensibilities. The track was uniquely created at Louis Vuitton’s atelier in Paris, underscoring the meeting of two creative forces at the height of their artistry.

Earlier this year, Rex completed a six-night sold-out residency at The London Palladium and appeared on the remix of Ravyn Lenae’s viral hit “Love Me Not,” nominated for “Song of Summer” at the 2025 VMAs. He also contributed “Love & Obsession” to Alex Russell’s film Lurker—starring Archie Madekwe—which premiered at Sundance, marking his debut in film scoring. His collaborations continue to thrive with Daniel Caesar and Mustafa, including an intimate performance and conversation in Cairo this past spring alongside Belgian-Egyptian musician Tamino.
