Electronic music pioneer Moby has unveiled a new remix package for “When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die,” released via BMG. The project revisits the 2026 version of the track from his latest album Future Quiet, featuring a striking vocal performance by Jacob Lusk.
The collection includes eight fresh remixes from Moby himself, an acapella version of the track, and new reinterpretations by John Tejada, NOHR, and High Beam. Each remix approaches the song from a different emotional and sonic angle, expanding on one of his most enduring compositions.
Originally appearing on Moby’s 1995 album Everything Is Wrong, “When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die” has experienced a major resurgence in recent years. The song reached a massive new global audience after being featured in the hit Stranger Things on Netflix, ultimately becoming Moby’s most-streamed track and introducing his music to a new generation of listeners.
The 2026 reimagining with Lusk brought renewed emotional weight to the piece, while this new remix collection pushes the song further into club culture and contemporary electronic soundscapes.
Tejada’s remix delivers a masterclass in atmospheric techno, pairing crisp percussion, warm basslines, and evolving synth melodies with Lusk’s gospel-tinged vocal performance while maintaining the song’s emotional depth.
NOHR offers a lush, immersive reinterpretation built on expansive ambient textures, understated rhythms, and detailed sound design, transforming the track into a hypnotic listening experience.
Meanwhile, High Beam injects an uplifting, dancefloor-ready energy, combining driving rhythms and soaring synths with Lusk’s powerful vocal to create an emotionally resonant club moment.
Alongside these contributions, Moby’s own remixes range from minimal and meditative to more propulsive, club-focused reworks, highlighting the track’s ability to move fluidly between introspective listening and dancefloor energy.
The release arrives as Moby prepares for a major return to live performance, including an appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this April and an extensive European summer tour. The run includes sold-out U.K. shows at On The Beach Brighton and Old Royal Naval College in London, as well as a performance at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Kilmainham, Dublin.
Future Quiet marks a reflective new chapter for the influential electronic artist. Across 14 tracks, the album blends piano minimalism, ambient soundscapes, and select vocal collaborations while exploring the tension between the noise of hyper-connected modern life and the human need for stillness.
With a 28-date European tour scheduled between June and August following Coachella, Moby’s 2026 live plans signal one of the most significant touring moments of his career—connecting decades of work with a new generation of listeners.
