María Isabel Releases Radiant New Single “Suiza” Produced by El Guincho

Dominican-American artist María Isabel returns today with “Suiza,” a vibrant new single from her forthcoming debut full-length. Produced by GRAMMY Award–winning producer El Guincho (Charli XCX, Rosalía, FKA twigs), the track arrives alongside a captivating music video directed by Olivia de Camps that pays tribute to María’s Dominican roots and the rich culture of the Dominican Republic.
“Suiza” further sharpens the sonic direction María is exploring on her next project. Drawing from her upbringing as a Dominican-American woman in New York City—where global sounds collide and coexist—the track reflects both her cultural identity and expanding artistic confidence. Her collaboration with El Guincho highlights a period of creative growth shaped by travel, lived experience, and a deeper embrace of her musical instincts. With this upcoming body of work, María aims to channel the spirit and musicality of the two places that shaped her most: New York City and the Dominican Republic. As a radiant dembow-driven track, “Suiza” raises the tempo while widening the scope of her evolving sound.
María first teased this new chapter last fall with a social media preview of “Sunset Tower,” followed by the official lead single “Bien Bien.” Remezcla praised the latter as “a powerful statement about María Isabel’s roots…and the perfect soundtrack to blast while glamorously tearing up the floor.” Today, “Sunset Tower” receives its official streaming release as part of a three-song bundle that also includes “Bien Bien” and the new single “Suiza.”
The forthcoming project marks a bold evolution from the introspective, soul-baring R&B María introduced in 2021 with her debut EP Stuck in the Sky and its follow-up i hope you’re very unhappy without me. Those releases quickly earned critical attention from outlets including Rolling Stone, Vogue, Pigeons & Planes, Wonderland, and NYLON, which highlighted the vulnerability and sharp emotional insight of her bilingual songwriting.
