Gesaffelstein Elevates Electronic Music with Explosive Live Album Enter The Gamma

Elusive French producer Gesaffelstein releases his first-ever live album, Enter The Gamma, out today. A devoted admirer of painter Pierre Soulages, Gesaffelstein draws from the idea that black is not an absence, but a surface where light takes form. On Enter The Gamma, that philosophy reaches its most distilled expression yet: sound as luminous shadow, stripped to its essence.
Recorded across the acclaimed Enter The Gamma world tour, the album captures Gesaffelstein without adornment—no reworking, no embellishment—just the set as it existed in the moment: loud, sharp, and meticulously controlled. The tour tore through major festivals worldwide, debuting at Coachella and continuing through Ultra, Portola, EDC, We Love Green, Les Vieilles Charrues, Summer Sonic, VAC, Palomosa, Lido, Rosendal, Audioriver, and Tecate Pa’l Norte, alongside three sold-out headline shows at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, Chicago’s Radius, and Brooklyn Mirage in New York. With each stop, the performance sharpened, evolving into a kind of electronic rite—where rhythm and shadow converged, probing the tension between violence and grace.
Enter The Gamma follows 2024’s Gamma, a studio album that marked a new chapter for Gesaffelstein, introducing lyrics for the first time—written and voiced by Yan Wagner—and embracing minimalist structure and emotional restraint.
A singular and magnetic presence in contemporary electronic music, Gesaffelstein has long been regarded as one of the genre’s most formidable live performers. He first emerged as the Frenchman in the skinny black suit, chain-smoking through ferocious club sets, before transforming into an otherworldly, chrome-masked figure suspended within a beam of light.
Since the early 2010s, Gesaffelstein has helped define the intersection of techno, art, and industrial music. His 2013 album Aleph set the blueprint: an architectural sound where elegance collides with brutality. Its breakout single “Pursuit” became a global anthem, drawing widespread attention and leading to high-profile collaborations with A$AP Rocky and The Weeknd (My Dear Melancholy,), followed by 2019’s Hyperion featuring The Weeknd, HAIM, and Pharrell Williams—an album that hinted at an impending artistic shift.
In recent years, Gesaffelstein has expanded his reach once again. He collaborated with Lil Nas X and Charli XCX, co-writing several tracks on BRAT, before joining forces with Lady Gaga after years of mutual admiration. Their first session for Mayhem yielded four tracks—“Killah,” “Garden of Eden,” “Perfect Celebrity,” and “Blade of Grass”—fusing his severe, sensual production with her grand dramatic vision. His remix of “Abracadabra” earned his first Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
