Jacob on the Moon is the musical alias of Jake Dinneen, a musician and producer based in Chicago. Described as “beachy rock-pop” by Chicago’s own Vocalo Radio, Jacob on the Moon has released several singles, two EPs, and a live album recorded at Audiotree (Live! From Earth) since beginning the project in 2019.
The band is composed of Dinneen’s friends and core collaborators, Dylan Barnett, Simon Ciaccio, Robby Kulik, Julian Merluzzi, Spencer Schillerstrom, and Devin Wessels. Jacob on the Moon’s music this past year has been shared by Audiotree, Under The Radar, the Chicago Reader, Luna Collective, The Big Takeover, and more.
Leaning into a soft-funk and disco-inspired sound on Dinneen’s latest recordings with The Gemini Club, the new EP is set for July 18, 2025 and showcases Dinneen’s songwriting prowess by writing a more conceptual EP that takes place on a discotheque on the dark side of the moon.
