SUMMARY:Sam Bush
DESCRIPTION:Sam Bush \nThere was only one prize-winning teenager with gumption enough to say\, thanks\, but no thanks to Roy Acuff. Only one son of Kentucky both finding a light of inspiration from Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys and catching a fire from Bob Marley and The Wailers. Only one progressive hippie allying with like-minded conspirators\, rolling out the New Grass revolution\, and then leaving the genres torch-bearing band behind as it reached its commercial peak. There is only one consensus pick of peers and predecessors\, of the traditionalists\, the rebels\, and the next gen devotees. Musics ultimate inside outsider. Or is it outside insider? There is only one Sam Bush.On a Bowling Green\, Kentucky cattle farm in the post-war 1950s\, Bush grew up an only son\, and with four sisters. His love of music came immediately\, encouraged by his parents record collection and\, particularly\, by his father Charlie\, a fiddler\, who organized local jams. Charlie envisioned his son someday a staff fiddler at the Grand Ole Opry\, but a clear days signal from Nashville brought to Bushs television screen a tow-headed boy named Ricky Skaggs playing mandolin with Flatt & Scruggs\, and an epiphany for Bush. At 11\, he purchased his first mandolin. As a teen fiddler\, Bush was a three-time national champion in the junior division of the National Oldtime Fiddlers Contest. He recorded an instrumental album\, Poor Richards Almanac\, as a high school senior and in the spring of 1970 attended the Fiddlers Convention in Union Grove\, NC. There he heard the New Deal String Band\, taking notice of their rock-inspired brand of progressive bluegrass.Acuff offered him a spot in his band. Bush politely turned down the country titan. It was not the music he wanted to play. He admired the grace of Flatt d discovered electrified alternatives to tradition in the Osborne Brothers and manifest destiny in The Dillards.I started working at the Holiday Inn as a busboy\, Bush recalls. Ebo Walker and Lonnie Peerce came in one night asking if I wanted to come to Louisville and play five nights a week with the Bluegrass Alliance. That was a big\, ol Hell yes\, lets go.Bush played guitar in the group\, then began playing mandolin after recruiting guitarist Tony Rice to the fold. Following a fallout with Peerce in 1971\, Bush and his Alliance mates – Walker\, Courtney Johnson\, and Curtis Burch – formed the New Grass Revival\, issuing the bands debut\, New Grass Revival. Walker left soon after\, replaced temporarily by Butch Robins\, with the quartet solidifying around the arrival of bassist John Cowan. There were already people who had deviated from Bill Monroes style of bluegrass\, Bush explains. If anything\, we were reviving a newgrass style that had already been started. Our kind of music tended to come from the idea of long jams and rock-

SUMMARY:Steam Powered Giraffe
DESCRIPTION:Steam Powered Giraffe\nCity Winery Chicago Presents Steam Powered Giraffe on Saturday\, May 30th at 7:30 PM!\nMore than a band. More than a show. Step into the world of Steam Powered Giraffe. Steam Powered Giraffe is a musical project from San Diego\, California. It was formed in 2008 by twin siblings David Michael Bennett and Isabella “Bunny” Bennett. Together\, along with a cast and crew filled with theatrical backgrounds\, the group takes on the guise of singing antique automatons and the fictional robotics company that made them. The quirky act combines comedic sketches\, improvised android banter\, and original music fused with multimedia visuals\, billowing steam effects\, and robot pantomime. From their heartwarming nostalgic melodies to their funky cabaret rock\, Steam Powered Giraffe’s songs are memorable\, infectious\, and as unique as the robots themselves. More than just a band\, Steam Powered Giraffe is an experience that must be seen and heard by the entire family.

SUMMARY:Stella Cole
DESCRIPTION:Stella Cole\nSings the Great American Songbook \nDate\nJune 4\, 2026\nVenue\nBennett Gordon Hall\nEvent Starts\n7:30 PM\nPublic Gates\n6:00 PM\nTicket Prices\n$45\nAll tickets show the “all-in” price\, fees included. Availability and prices are subject to change. \nAbout the Performance\nStella Cole comes naturally to her repertoire “I grew up on old movie musicals\,” she remembers. “When I was two years old\, my parents sat me down in front of the TV and turned on the VHS of The Wizard of Oz. I’ve just been obsessed with that movie my whole life\, and because of it\, I started singing before I could even talk.” \nAs an artist\, Stella found a way of thriving – and launching a musical career – at a moment when most performers were struggling. In 2020 and 2021\, Cole began posting videos of herself singing on YouTube\, Tiktok\, and other social platforms. Her performance of “Everybody Says Don’t” (Anyone Can Whistle)\, hit 40\,000 views right out of the gate. \nAfter lockdown\, she moved to New York\, where her career really went up a notch. She began working live all over the city\, and was soon seen at Birdland\, the Café Carlyle\, and even Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden. In 2023\, she worked with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox\, with whom she toured the entire country\, as well as Australia and New Zealand. Her interpretations of Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl” and Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers” added over ten million more views and streams to her list of accomplishments. \nReflecting on her pandemic success\, Cole shares: “During the lockdown\, thousands of people were sending me messages saying\, ‘You don’t know how much you’ve helped me\,’ and ‘your music is the one thing cheering me up right now.’That’s the most gratifying thing of all\, experiencing how this music can actually help people.”

SUMMARY:Covet with LITE and Hikes
DESCRIPTION:Covet with LITE and Hikes \nCovet is the baby and brainchild of guitarist and songwriter/composer Yvette Young\,conceived as a sort-of-rebellion against and simultaneously an extension of her classicalroots. The band was founded in the Bay Area\, California\, with the intention of fusing lushpost-rock soundscapes with the more intricate elements of progressive music\, with melody and emotion at the forefront\, evolving with each release. The name came from Yvettes love for the band Basement\, as well as a fondness for the meaning of the word: to want something really badly\, which is what the whole creative process feels like to her: a sort of yearning.

SUMMARY:Yot Club
DESCRIPTION:Fast Track for Yot Club First Entry Into Venue First Access To Merch Commemorative Laminate Sticker Sheet Tote Bag GA ticket to the showIMPLETON\, the third album from multi-platinum indie-rock singer/songwriter YOT CLUB\,dismantles the utopian view of the American suburbs\, treating finely manicured life as a mirage. Across its 13 tracks\, the LP wrestles with how curated feeds and predictable routines can blur\, and even erase\, empathy and responsibility\, creating a world where difficult questions and harsh realities are easy to ignore. In 2019\, Ryan Kaiser started Yot Club in his college dorm\, crafting a lo-fi\, classically cool indie rock sound grounded under a dreamlike haze. Two years later\, his breakthrough single YKWIM? quickly reached viral status on TikTok (today\, its been streamed more than 1 billion times) and has since taken him around the world at festivals like Treefort\, Kilby Block Party and Pitchfork Paris. But even as his personal geography has shifted to Nashville\, New York\, Philadelphia and now LA the suburban logic he grew up with continues to color his writing. At one point in Kaisers life\, his surroundings were just scenery; now\, as his understanding of the world and his place in it have grown\, they read differently a learned sense of perspective that marks his songs. When I first started\, I was posting music into the void with no expectations that anyone would hear it\, he says. I feel more ready now to write about something nuanced\, whereas a few years ago Id probably just say\, Ill write about my dog. Ive realized it all has to mean something otherwise\, whats the point? \nPlease Note:\nThis event is 17 and over. SUMMARY:Josiah and the Bonnevilles
DESCRIPTION:Josiah and the Bonnevilles – The Redline North America Tour with Max Alan and Brenna MacMillan presented by Thalia Hall & Metro \nJosiah Leming has paid his dues. As a teenager from East Tennessee\, his devotion to music led him to hit the road\, where he lived in his car and played for anyone who would listen. That took him all the way to a major record deal when he was only nineteen. When that ended\, he refused to give up and became an indie artist\, relying solely on the music and his undeniable gift for crafting relatable songs that led to a devoted fan base he calls the Bonnevilles. He appreciates them so much that he includes them in his artist name. Theyre the reason Im able to make music\, he says.2024 saw Josiah and the Bonnevilles reaching new heights\, completing a headlining tour of thirty-three sold-out dates followed by a slew of international stops that proved his global following. He has become known for raw emotion and a profound connection to his audience. This newfound attention has led to much anticipation for his new album and As Is lives up to the expectations.I knew I had a responsibility to try to become a better writer\, a better artist\, he says. One day that feels like a blessing\, and the next it feels pretty intimidating. Instead of reproducing his popular sound from the self produced Endurance\, he decided to expand it. I think it would have been hard to keep my excitement to go out on the road with another kind of acoustic record. His tenth studio album finds him going more electric than ever before\, even as he unplugs from the digital world. I feel like a grizzled old veteran at this point\, he says\, even though he is only thirty-six. Im desiring quiet\, a work space away from the internetI felt like it was important to pull back this last year and try to understand whats on my heart. What he found there resulted in an album focusing on joy\, sorrow\, and working-class issues that feel very of the moment in a time when so many Americans are struggling to make ends meet.Leming comes by his empathy for working people honestly. Hes one of nine siblings\, born and raised in Morristown\, Tennessee\, right in the heart of Appalachia. He taught himself piano when he was eight and was writing songs by thirteen. As a child he was intently aware of his community and intensely proud of his people\, something he thinks about even more in these trying times. I look at my I look at my folks in East Tennessee and very few of them seem to be winning in this new world\, Leming says. Being a regular person\, working\, trying your best. I think thats something to be proud of.His records have always been intensely personal. But on As Is he wanted to step away from being the main character and instead use vignettes to express essential truths he has learned. I want anyone to be able to put it on and not think about me when theyre listening. I want them to be in the emotion. Because of this he made a conscious choice to not include himself on the album cover.

SUMMARY:Trousdale
DESCRIPTION:For Trousdalethe trio of Quinn DAndrea\, Georgia Greene\, and Lauren Jonesthe ache of growing through change\, of facing down existential anxiety\, and matters of the heart are all intimately familiar. We can acknowledge the strides weve made and be grateful\, but weve talked a lot about how tired we are\, Jones says with a laugh. Weve been thinking a lot about the tension that comes with change\, wanting it\, fighting it\, embracing it\, but learning to thrive in that moment. On Trousdales upcoming LP\, Growing Pains (due April 11th)\, the band works through those struggles to find strength\, courage\, and growth in each other. From what was\, something new can always grow\, DAndrea says.Opening on a ripping electric guitar and bolstered by their trademark harmonies\, the title track and lead single perfectly encapsulates those feelings in the life of Trousdale. Im making it through the tough times when it feels like Ive been burning out/ Trying to build up the muscle so the hustle doesnt pull me down\, they sing\, a limber bass line drawing each new syllable forward. The album was recorded largely live in the room and co-produced by the band and John Mark Nelson\, a songwriter who has also co-written and produced songs for Suki Waterhouse and Shaboozey\, as well as engineered tracks for the likes of Taylor Swift and Mitski. This song was about what we feel every day in this band\, Greene says. Being exhausted but finding beauty together.Trousdales debut album\, 2023s Out of My Mind\, earned raves from the likes of the Boston Globe\, Consequence\, and Atwood Magazine for its powerful songwriting\, immaculate harmonies\, and ability to bridge gaps between country and indie pop. On Growing Pains\, the three songwriters evolved their style\, writing rough ideas on their own\, then refining and finishing them in the room together. Were all adding to each others ideas\, drawing from personal experiences and then expanding them into something more people can connect with\, DAndrea explains. To that end\, second single Secondhand Smoke lives deeply in the story of an abusive relationship\, but elevates into something far more haunting. Theres an icy chill to the acoustic guitar\, the pain ringing softly into the night as the trio take on the perspective of a woman struggling to find hope. While working with co-writers like Mags Duval and Adam expanded the bands purview\, the trio credit John Mark Nelson as a particularly powerful guide. Hes always thinking about the big picture and staying out of the weeds\, Jones laughs. We used to live in the weeds. But John Mark helped us focus on the album as a whole. That lesson shows both in the totality of Growing Pains and in the summery charm of a track like Over and Over. Nelson shared a rough sketch of the track\, and Trousdale eagerly carved out their own version: a tale of running into an ex and trying to decipher how you feel about everyone moving on. DAndrea points to the way the track leaps between tight-knit harmonies and lead vocal flourishes as emblematic of the new heights Trousdale has reached. Every time we record and were in the vocal booth\, were all getting better and figuring out what we need\, she says.

SUMMARY:DeVotchKa - “A Tribute to the Music of Little Miss Sunshine”
DESCRIPTION:DeVotchKa – “A Tribute to the Music of Little Miss Sunshine” \nIn a serendipitous moment on Morning Becomes Eclectic\, the radio station KCRW in Santa Monica changed the trajectory of both indie cinema and one of Denvers most distinctive musical voices. When filmmakers Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris heard DeVotchKas evocative sound drifting through the airwaves\, they knew theyd found the emotional heartbeat for their film Little Miss Sunshine. That instinct proved prophetic. DeVotchKas soundtrack and score for the 2006 film became inseparable from its story. The bittersweet orchestration to the Hoover familys cross-country journey\, captured the themes of hope\, resilience\, and beautifully imperfect dreams. The bandssignature sound gave the film its unmistakable soul\, turning moments like young Olives final dance into cultural touchstones. The work earned DeVotchKa a Grammy nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album and the film won two Oscars. Introducing the world to the bands cinematic\, lush orchestral sound\, songs like Til the End of Time and How It Ends transcended the screen to become anthems.Now\, two decades later\, DeVotchKa will be celebrating this landmark collaboration with aspecial 20th anniversary tour\, A Tribute to the Music of Little Miss Sunshine. Theperformance honors not just the music that helped define a generation of independent film\, but the unlikely journey that began with a radio station\, a perfect song at the perfect moment\, and a story about never giving up on what makes you different.Join DeVotchKa as they revisit the soundtrack and score that launched them into the cultural conversation a reminder that sometimes the most beautiful twists of fate create the most lasting art.
