Ecca Vandal Drops Explosive New Single “BLEACH”

Melbourne-based, genre-defying artist Ecca Vandal returns today with her powerful new single, “BLEACH.” The release arrives alongside a striking self-directed video—written, styled, edited, and directed entirely by Ecca—further expanding the fiercely independent creative universe she has been building through recent singles “MOLLY,” “CRUISING TO SELF SOOTHE,” “BLEED BUT NEVER DIE,” and “THEN THERE’S ONE.” All tracks will appear on her forthcoming album, the long-awaited follow-up to her 2017 self-titled debut.

“BLEACH” lands as an uncompromising act of self-renewal—a scorched-earth rejection of fear, labels, and inherited expectations. The track captures the clarity that comes from stripping away what no longer serves you to make space for reinvention. Speaking on the song, Ecca explains: “‘BLEACH’ is the moment you shed the version of yourself moulded by fear. It’s brutal, honest, messy, and necessary — letting the old stuff go to make room for something new.

Fearless in both sound and vision, Ecca Vandal seamlessly fuses punk, hip-hop, jazz, soul, trip-hop, and electronic elements into a sonic identity that is explosive and unmistakably her own. A trained jazz musician in her formative years, her grounding in improvisation evolved into a deep embrace of punk’s DIY ethos, allowing her to balance soulful melodic instincts with raw, unapologetic force. Last year, she graced the cover of Alternative Press, speaking with Editor-in-Chief Anna Zanes about her boundary-breaking sound and offering early hints at the full-length project to come.

Her commanding live presence continues to elevate her global profile. Following performances with Limp Bizkit across South America and an appearance at Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, Ecca is set to make her Coachella debut this April. She will also appear at Rock im Park and Rock am Ring in Germany, Outbreak Festival in Manchester, Rock For People in Prague, and Roskilde Festival in Denmark. In May, she joins Deftones for dates across Australia and New Zealand. Full live dates are listed below.

Born in South Africa with Tamil heritage and raised in Naarm / Melbourne, Ecca Vandal emerged with a distinctly punk spirit and an uncompromising voice. She brings relentless energy to every stage, having toured alongside Queens of the Stone Age, IDLES, and The Prodigy, among others. Refusing categorization, she shifts effortlessly between defiance and vulnerability, using her music as both declaration and spectacle—a modern provocateur whose presence is as magnetic as it is fearless.
