Australian DJ and producer Dom Dolla returns with a high-energy new remix, Addicted To Bass (Dom Dolla Relapse), his reimagining of the classic Aussie dance track Addicted To Bass by Puretone. The remix originally debuted during Dom’s landmark headline performance at Allianz Stadium last December, where he made history as the first electronic artist to headline a stadium show in his home country. One of the night’s most memorable moments came with the surprise premiere of the remix—a track Dom has long wanted to release after becoming obsessed with the original as a teenager.
On choosing to remix “Addicted To Bass”, Dom shares:

“This record was quite literally the soundtrack to my childhood; released in 1998, it followed me everywhere as a kid. Despite how immersive it was for me, spending a lot of time overseas as an adult, I was surprised how few of my friends were familiar with it.
Fast forward to preparing for my first ever stadium show in 2025. I was toying around with a bunch of remix and edit ideas, going through an old playlist of records I loved and I just couldn’t move past it. Almost 30 years have gone by and I truly hope this new version finds an audience who connect with it in a fraction of the way that I did as a kid. The addiction is real.”
Since its debut, the remix has drawn enthusiastic reactions from crowds around the world and ultimately earned the approval of the song’s original creators, Josh Abrahams and Amiel Daemion of Puretone. Josh Abrahams shared, “This mix finds the deeper, steamier layers in the song. While staying true to the original, particularly in the chorus, Dom has brought his own dirty funk groove to the party.”
Dom Dolla’s take on “Addicted To Bass” arrives following a massive year for the Australian producer. Recent highlights include a Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non‑Classical nomination for his remix of New Gold by Gorillaz, five ARIA Awards wins—including the inaugural ARIA Global Impact Award—and the ARIA Award-winning single Dreamin featuring Daya. He also teamed with Kid Cudi on Forever, which the pair performed together during Dom’s two sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden, and released No Room For A Saint featuring Nathan Nicholson, written for F1 The Movie in partnership with Apple.
