Deb Never Announces Debut Album ARCADE, Shares Captivating Title Track Ahead of May 8 Release
Deb Never by Jason Garofolo
Washington state native Deb Never announces her long-awaited debut album ARCADE, arriving May 8 via Giant Music, alongside the release of its stirring title track, “ARCADE.” The single is accompanied by a cinematic new video directed by Iris Kim and starring Deb, with cameos from Romil Hemnani, Q, Ashlan Grey, and more. Expanding the world of the song beyond the screen, Deb also unveiled an interactive online arcade game that lets fans step into the boxcar race featured in the video.
With ARCADE, Deb places her vocals and songwriting firmly at the center. Eschewing heavy production and emotional distance, she builds intricate, deeply personal songs from intimate guitar demos recorded at home. That stripped-back ethos carries through previously released singles “Blue,” “KNOW ME BETTER,” and “Not In Love.” The album is now available to pre-save across streaming platforms, with a special vinyl edition—featuring art direction by Metals—available for pre-order.
Reflecting the way it was created, ARCADE unfolds like a collage of spontaneous studio sessions, restless days in Los Angeles, and quiet moments of introspection. What began as personal vignettes gradually cohered into a focused and unflinchingly vulnerable body of work, chronicling the transformative arc of an all-consuming relationship and its aftermath.
Though the album radiates calm vulnerability, its creation was anything but solitary. Executive producer Romil Hemnani helped shape the project, preserving the intimacy of Deb’s bedroom recordings while adding nuanced texture and dimension. A rotating cast of collaborators—including boylife and Dominic Fike—moved fluidly through sessions, balancing the quiet introspection at the album’s core with the unpredictable energy of the studio. “There’s always so much going on, there’s always people around me, I’m always surrounded,” Deb says. “But I always felt this singularity and this isolation and in my music is the only time where I can really express that.”
Deb first signaled the arrival of her debut through a steady run of singles across 2024 and 2025, a breakout period that included being named one of Amazon Music’s 2025 Artists to Watch. She also took the stage at some of the largest venues of her career, touring with Wallows across the Midwest and East Coast before closing the year with a standout performance at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
ARCADE marks a return to the stripped-down spirit of her beloved debut EP House on Wheels, which followed her standout contribution to GINGER by BROCKHAMPTON in 2019.
Her evolution continued through 2021’s Where Have All The Flowers Gone? and 2023’s Thank You For Attending, leading to this full-length statement. Along the way, Deb has collaborated with artists and producers including Kenny Beats, Biig Piig, Audrey Nuna, Shlohmo, Jim-E-Stack, Jam City, and has toured with Omar Apollo, slowthai, and Tommy Genesis. Beyond music, she has appeared in campaigns for brands including Calvin Klein, Yves Saint Laurent, GANNI, Burberry, and Givenchy.
Listen to “ARCADE” now, explore the interactive game experience, and stay tuned for more from Deb Never soon.
