Clara La San Returns With Haunting New Single/Video “News” And Chicago Tour Stop October 20th
The boundary-pushing artist readies for her sold-out North American tour
Clara La San has never been one to follow trends—she shapes them. The visionary composer, producer, and vocalist reemerges with “News,” a hypnotic new single and video out now via CLS Music / AWAL. Built around pulsing rhythms, featherlight melodies, and R&B undertones, the track distills Clara’s singular mix of emotion and precision into something at once intimate and cinematic.
The video strips everything back to essentials: Clara, smoke, and light. With stark minimalism and flashes of strobe, the visuals heighten her magnetic presence and echo the song’s emotional core. Co-produced with Yves Rothman and mixed by Noah Glassman, “News” was written and produced by Clara herself—a fitting reminder that every detail of her sound world comes directly from her hands.
The release lands just as she prepares to launch her sold-out North American headline tour, starting October 13 in Seattle before hitting Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, and more. The momentum is undeniable—660 million global streams, shows selling out in minutes (with several moved to larger venues), and a special performance alongside Erika de Casier on October 24 at Knockdown Center in New York.
Clara says about the single, “I think this might be my favourite song I’ve ever written. Everything about this song felt effortless, from writing the lyrics to the production. It all just fell into place without having to think too much.”
It’s been a transformative year for Clara. Her debut album Made Mistakes, released in June 2024, drew praise from The FADER, Paper, Nylon, Office, and others for its vulnerability and immaculate production. She followed it with a reimagining of her acclaimed 2017 mixtape Good Mourning, featuring updated vocals, a new mix by Grammy-nominated engineer Geoff Swan (Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek, HAIM, Florence + The Machine), and the new track and video “Enemy” with longtime collaborator Jam City—a full-circle moment that let fans experience the project as she always intended.
Meanwhile, “Feel Good” from Good Mourning has found a massive second life online—sitting on TikTok’s Top 50, inspiring over 3 million user creations and generating 1 billion views of content.
