Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Charlotte Day Wilson unveils her long-awaited new project, Patchwork, available now via Stone Woman Music / XL Recordings. Renowned for her seamless blend of contemporary R&B and jazz, anchored by unmistakably rich and emotive vocals, Wilson steps into a refined creative era shaped by instinct, vulnerability, and self-trust.

Initially conceived as a series of demos during a period of personal uncertainty, the songs that became Patchwork revealed their strength in their raw, unfiltered form. Rather than chase perfection, Wilson embraced imperfection as both philosophy and sonic framework, allowing emotional honesty to guide the process. The result is a collection that feels intimate and fully realized in its restraint.

Reflecting on the project, Wilson shares: “Patchwork is my little mosaic of imperfection. I realized how much more beautiful my life and my music were when I let go of expectations and unrealistic standards and just followed my instincts. I said fuck u to pressure and went back to my original process of creating — making songs in my room without knowing what for. I don’t know what else to say other than this music feels deeply true to my soul. I’m aligned with myself, and what a feat that is.”

Wilson began 2026 with “Lean,” featuring fellow Torontonian Saya Gray, a collaboration that broadened her sonic landscape with renewed intimacy and subtle emotional precision. Earlier singles “High Road” and “Selfish” — co-written and co-produced with Saya Gray, Ace G, and Braden Sauder — signaled this evolution, pairing understated piano, layered harmonies, and evocative lyricism with Wilson’s commanding yet tender delivery. Most recently, she released “If Only,” a meditation on vulnerability and the ache of trying to hold onto fleeting moments. Listen to “If Only” HERE.

Patchwork follows a period of significant artistic ascent. In 2025, Wilson was honored with the Innovator Award at Billboard Canada’s Women in Music event — the first time the accolade was presented in Canada — recognizing her impact as a vocalist, producer, and creative visionary. Since her breakout 2016 EP CDW, Wilson has cultivated a singular body of work including Stone Woman (2018), her debut album Alpha (2021), and Cyan Blue (2024). Her catalog has earned widespread critical acclaim from The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, The Guardian, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, and The FADER, alongside Polaris Music Prize recognition, multiple Juno Award nominations, and the 2018 Prism Prize for the video “Work.”

Beyond her own releases, Wilson’s influence extends across contemporary music. Her work has been sampled by Drake, John Mayer, and James Blake; she has collaborated with Kaytranada, BADBADNOTGOOD, Syd, and Ouri; and she recently completed an arena tour supporting Giveon. With Patchwork, Wilson reframes her journey not as a linear progression, but as a deliberate collection of moments — stitched together with clarity, restraint, and unflinching honesty.
