Alice Glass Unleashes High-Voltage New Single “MERCY KILL” with Haunting 16mm Video

(November 21, 2025) — Alice Glass unveiled her new single “MERCY KILL,” a high-energy, glitch-driven track accompanied by an arresting visual directed by Yulia Shur. Shot on 16mm film and physically treated with corrosive chemicals to distort and degrade the footage, the video creates a chaotic, atmospheric world without the use of digital effects. “MERCY KILL” arrives on the heels of “CATCH AND RELEASE,” released earlier this year, together offering the first glimpse of a larger project expected in 2026.
Alice Glass remains one of electronic music’s boldest and most distinctive voices. She first came to prominence in the late 2000s as the frontwoman of Crystal Castles, where her fusion of noise, pop, and punk helped define a new sonic era. Her visceral performances and eerie-to-feral vocal range earned acclaim from outlets like Pitchfork and NME—the latter honoring her with the John Peel Award for Innovation—and secured her an enduring global cult following.
Since leaving the band in 2014 and publicly speaking out about the abuse she endured, Glass has forged a powerful solo path on her own terms. Her debut album PREY//IV (2022) established her as an uncompromising creative force, followed by notable 2024 releases including the collaborative track “REMAINS” with CLIP and a haunting cover of The Smashing Pumpkins’ fan favorite “Drown.” With her latest work, Glass continues to expand her sonic universe—devastating, cathartic, and impossible to predict.
